| James Wright James Wright’s diverse creative interests cast him as a Renaissance man of music – composer, pianist, musicologist, and teacher. A frequent collaborator, his works often involve the integration of music with poetry, visual art, and dance. Listeners frequently comment on the dance gestures that abound in his music, a reflection of his love of music and movement, and his history of involvement with the Canadian ballet community. He is the author of award-winning books and articles on musicological topics, and has taught all aspects of composition and music theory as well as nineteenth and twentieth-century music history at Wilfrid Laurier University, McGill University, the University of Ottawa, and Carleton University where he is a professor of music theory and composition in the School for Studies in Art and Culture.
