| Sheila Hilton Johnson Sheila Hilton Johnson is a well-established teacher, composer and choral conductor. Now living on Vancouver Island, she received her initial musical training in her native England where she studied piano, violin and flute, attaining an A.R.C.M. in piano pedagogy. After emigrating to Canada in 1972, she taught music at the secondary level in the private school system, then returned to university, studying conducting with George Corwin at the University of Victoria where she completed her Bachelor of Music degree. She then taught music in public elementary schools in the Cowichan Valley from 1979 until her retirement in June 2001. Sheila has directed choirs of all ages throughout her career and continues to compose and arrange music for both the Cowichan Valley Youth Choir, which she directs, and for Concenti Singers, the adult choir which she has co-directed with her husband, James L. Johnson since it was established in 1983. Her publications for Demand Music include music for both children's and adult choirs. Earlier published works include: "My Magic World” - Gordon V.
